Thoughts on Integrating this Weekend Into your Life
Transitioning back to everyday life
* You're very open right now. Put a shield of white light around you so you can stay open and still feel safe on the freeway, dealing with the office world, etc.
* Take time and treat yourself right: food, solitude, friends, baths.
* Allow a day to rest, write in your journal, meditate, celebrate who you have become, etc. before you jump back into your routine.
* Call someone!
Staying in Community
* Make commitments now to be in contact with people. Get phone numbers and e-mail addresses before you leave and make specific plans of when you’ll call or write.
* If you have uncompleted clearings with people, consider ways to make space to talk with them. Signs that you need to clear include finding yourself replaying a hurt again and again or making sarcastic jokes or other negative remarks about a person when they’re not around. If you're not ready to clear with a person, at least talk to someone you trust to help you prepare to clear.
* Consider living the covenant 24x7. You are guardians of this community.
Suggestions on how to hold and share this experience
* Don't belittle it with cheap talk. Speak consciously and choose who you will talk to.
* When you speak, speak of your own experience. Don't name others without permission or speak of their experiences. People can be identified even if you leave out names. Also, their stories are theirs.
* Be aware of judgements, pain or other emotions you may be holding. Embrace all your feelings.
* If people ask about your weekend, they often don't want lots of details. "I've been to a communications workshop" is often enough. If they show interest, you might mention that we deal with sexuality, and follow your instinct on how to take it from there.
* If you’re going home to a partner who wasn’t here, create relaxed time and space to talk about the experience.
* Wait a week or two before making any life-changing decisions.
